Europe aspires to become the first continent in the world to be carbon-neutral by 2050. To achieve this, all (intense) energy-using industries must cut back on their greenhouse gas emissions. Looking at Belgium specifically, the country must reduce its CO₂ emissions by 80 to 95%. To realize this, Belgians must also have climate-neutral building stock by 2050, which they are currently working on.
