Economic mission Brazil for the LSH sector with Bas van den Dungen, Ministry of Health – a first impression

TFHC is the sector coordinator during this mission. As purveyor to the Dutch government, TRANSFER was again engaged on behalf of RVO to organize the business meetings between the Dutch participants and Brazilian counterparts.

Brazil, with its 205 million inhabitants, has the largest healthcare market in all of Latin America. It is the third-largest private healthcare market worldwide and the seventh-largest economy in the world.

The country also faces major societal challenges, such as a rapidly aging population,

increase in chronic and diseases of affluence, and adjustments to the healthcare system to ensure it is sustainable (financially) for the future.

The Netherlands was invited to participate in Hospitalar 2017, the associated The International Healthcare Services Congress (CISS) and The 2017 Digital Healthcare Forum (DHF17) as a special guest country. Hospitalar is Latin America’s largest healthcare event and the third-largest healthcare trade fair worldwide.

For the Dutch delegation, there is free participation in Hospitalar 2017, the Healthcare Services Congress and DHF17. An individual matchmaking program has been established for each participant, and networking events will take place. Moreover, collective visits to and meetings with private and public (university) hospitals have been scheduled, as well as visits to government and other relevant healthcare institutions.

The more than 25 participants, ranging from Academic Hospitals, technology suppliers to the health sector, research institutes, eHealth specialists, etc. receive targeted appointments set up by the TRANSFER team operating out of the São Paulo office.

From this office, the participating companies also have the opportunity to be guided in the follow-up of the contacts made after the mission. This includes partner selection, lead generation, closing deals, and starting up a local branch.
