A football coach as an exported product

March 23, a familiar voice sounded through the radio 📻 Our CEO Gerald Baal was a guest at the Dutch BNR news radio at the “Wereldveroveraars” program. Together with Nico van Vlijmen and Virgial Berveling, founders of the Coach Amigo app, Gerald started a conversation about the football coach as an export product together with host Jelle Maasbach.

The interesting conversation turned quickly to the growth of the app in the Flemish part of Belgium 🧇. But did you know that doing business in Belgium is more difficult than Dutch entrepreneurs often think?

Although the same language is spoken in both the Netherlands and Flanders, there is more than meets the eye.

For example, did you know…?

🏢 That an SME in The Netherlands is called an MKB and in Belgium an KMO

👶🏻 In The Netherlands they say having a baby whereas in Belgium they refer to buying a baby

🎓 They say ‘my frame just graduated’ in Flemish. In other words: ‘my cousin just graduated’

Salut!
